You Wanted Nier Replicant Remaster? Proton Delivers

Nier Replicant v1.22 followed by a horde of nonsensical figures is a remastered edition of the original Nier Replicant game from 2010. I actually remember it because I had it on Xbox 360 at the time. The Remaster was just released on the 23rd of April 2021, and the good news is that it works out of the box on Proton on most configurations, as indicated by a Gold rating on ProtonDB. Funny fact is that Nier Automata was the one game that pushed Philip Rebhole, the lead developer behind DXVK, to implement DX11 on top of Vulkan. Now, many years later, seeing the prequel to Automata working very nicely at release vindicates all these efforts once again.

a sad linux user

Game is quickly dropping from gold and already hit silver, game crashes with proton when it tries to run major movie cut scenes, thus meaning you can’t beat chapter 1.
Beware buying until it hopefully gets fixed or a workaround is found if you have to use Linux to play it.

FFFFF

Yeah… Works great, until you get half-way through and then it CRASHES, UNDOING THE LAST 20-30 MINUTES OF BOSS FIGHTS AND CUTSCENES!
