OddWorld New’n Tasty is the new game in the Oddworld Inhabitants series. Well, it’s actually a reboot of the first Oddworld game, but it has been entirely remade with a new Engine and cinematics. So, it looks great. And it was planned for Linux as announced earlier this year.
The game was already released in late July for Playstation 4, and received good reviews and ratings. Jim Sterling from The Escapist summarized his opinion of the game with the following:
Just as Abe’s Oddysee was a classic of the PlayStation era, so too should Oddworld: New n’ Tasty be a classic of the modern age. More than just a remake, this is a contemporary puzzle-platformer that charms, exasperates, and delights. This is how you do a reboot.
So what about the other versions of the game ? Last week IGN has just reported…
Oddworld says that the PC, Mac, and Linux versions of the game are completed and will launch on Steam “as soon as possible.” The Xbox One version is expected to have a short window of time between now and its release.
So, it should not be too long until the game hits Steam for Linux, and very likely in Q4 this year, at the same time as the Windows version. Happy holidays in sight!! (Check out the other games very likely to come out for Linux in Q4).
