Feral is Working on Another Total War

Yup, and it’s not (unfortunately?) Rome II. Feral has just announced a few days ago they will be released a macOS and Linux port for Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia, shortly after the Windows release due April 19.

Total War Saga is a new series of games in the Total War universe that are supposed to take place a very precise points in History, compared to the long-running campaigns offered by usual Total War games. Thrones of Britannia will see Anglo-Saxons, Gaelic clans and Viking folks battle each other for the supremacy of the British isles in 878 AD.

So far we have had the following Total War ports on Linux:

  • Total War: Attila (internal port by CA)
  • Total War: Shogun 2 (Feral) – our review
  • Total War: Warhammer (Feral)
  • Empire: Total War (Feral)
  • Medieval II: Total War (Feral)

We are still missing Total War: Rome II, and Napoleon: Total War which are using the same engine (TW Engine 3, 32 bits) – not sure if we should still expect anything. Also, no word regarding Total War: Warhammer II for Linux so far, while something was supposed to be announced by the end of 2017. Still, good to see more Total War titles coming our way, and I am curious about having something more focused on fixed point in time.
