As mentioned last week, it was not a secret anymore due to a couple of unfortunate (?) leaks, but Feral has anyway officially announced that F1 2015 will be out on Linux tomorrow, the 26th of May. A sudden announcement just before the release – I was expecting a little more lead time, but what’s to complain about hey ? We get another AAA title before the end of May, and furthermore another racer, I’m all for it. To spice things up a little, Feral will do a livestream of the Linux port this evening (25th of May) from 6PM BST / 10AM PT and it will be viewable on their Twitch channel.
I won’t be able to catch it guys since I will most likely be sleeping, but you can be sure we’ll do a proper review of the game and the port quality soon after that.
There’s a new mysterious title “coming very soon” on Feral’s radar, with the mention “808 SB12S” and a picture of the moon. I have no good clue to give you as to what this could be. There are 4 more titles upcoming for Linux as well in the rest of the radar, so the year should bring us plenty more titles from Feral. Hopefully this shows that the market is getting somewhat profitable for them (if not, they’d probably stop doing ports).
