- 8 GB DDR4 RAM
- 240 GB M.2 SSD
The display is 15.6”, capable of 1080p resolution and has a matte finish. The laptop has built-in Wi-Fi 6/Bluetooth 5 and has the following ports:
- 1 USB 3.2
- 1 USB 3.2 Type-C
- 2 USB 2.0
- HDMI

It has a dimension of 14.19” x 9.42” x 0.78” (36 x 23.9 x 1.99 cm), and apparently is the lightest 15” laptop in System76’s inventory at 3.64 lbs (1.65kg). It can be opened at up to 180 degrees. The battery is rated at 49 Wh, and the webcam is 1M, being able to capture at 720p resolution. The Pangolin can come pre-installed with either Pop!_OS or Ubuntu.
As for upgradability:
- the processor can be upgraded to a Ryzen 7 4700U (8 cores, 8 threads, base clock of 2 GHz and boost of 4.1)
- the customer can request as much as 64 GB of RAM
- storage can be as much as 2 TB (or 8 TB? There’s conflicting evidence between the product page and the brief overview on S76’s laptop assortment page) PCIe NVMe
Sam Mondlick, vice president of the Sales department at System76, offered these words concerning the Pangolin:
Our customers have long been asking for a lightweight, versatile laptop fully powered by AMD. We believe the Pangolin answers this demand with its sleek lightweight design and easily upgradable components. It’s definitely a fantastic addition to our line.
Great to finally see something that’s semi-affordable (it’s currently the cheapest laptop that they sell). If you’re interested in discovering more about the Pangolin, head over to the product page.
