Saints Row IV and Gat out of Hell Released!
Well that’s a nice surprise. While other planned ports, announced for December, seem to be missing their release date (Rocket League has been pushed back to January, and Original Sin: Divinity is STILL having trouble), at least we get Saints Row IV and Gat Out of Hell! Both ports are from Virtual Programming, and apparently running very well based on the first reports.
The good news does not end here, since both games are heavily discounted today on Steam.
To celebrate, for a limited time you can grab Saints Row IV: Game of the Century Edition for 70% off, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell for 66% off, or the entire Saints Row Ultimate Franchise Pack for 66% off.
And guess what? the ports of the two other Saints Row are officially planned for early next year, as previously hinted:
Saints Row 2 and Saints Row: The Third – included in the Saints Row Ultimate Franchise Pack – are also planned for SteamOS early next year, and will also support Steam Play.
Looks like we are getting a nice Christmas present that will make up for other delays. And this release is for SteamOS only, Macs are apparently not getting the port at this stage - I feel a little sorry for them, but then again SteamOS seems to be picking up more interest these days, probably because porters are expecting it to be a growing market. It will be interesting to know if they can recoup their investment on a SteamOS/Linux port alone, even if they don’t do any Mac port.
