XCOM2 Announced for Linux (for 2015?)

By

The word is just out and 2K and Firaxis Games have just announced they are working on XCom 2, and that the game would be released later in this year on Windows PC (November 2015). The game will also be ported to Linux and Mac by Feral, who were already responsible for the excellent XCom port we got last year.

Xcom 2 takes place 20 years in the future, in a world where Humanity has lost its fight against the Aliens, and lives under a new world order. The secret paramilitary organization XCOM has been largely forgotten by then, and it is up to the gamer to lead the rebellion to claim back Humanity’s rights.

There’s only a single screenshot/artwork that was released together with the official announcement, as you can see below.

From a Linux point of view, it’s another AAA title to expect in the catalog within this year (and God there will be many!), and Linux support is now kind of expected with 2K (following Borderlands 2 and TPS, Civilization, Bioshock Infinite…) and we certainly hope for a same-day release on all platforms.
